Bizzy Girls, and now Bizzy Boys – Entrepreneur Camps for ages 6-12
Bizzy Girls has 16 camps for girls ages 6-12 who want to create their own product line and start their own biz. Fashion, Home décor and more (individual projects). Locations: Thousand Oaks, Sherman Oaks, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Manhattan Beach and more. Bizzy Boys has one camp for boys ages 6-12 the week of August 8th in Westwood area. Bringing Generations Together – Volunteers for elders in need of help within their own community
Volunteers register to offer their services based on their true desire to help elders. Elder Helpers strives to safely and conveniently connect these dedicated, passionate volunteers with elders in their local communities, for free. There are many activities for building emotionally rewarding relationships with elders. A few of the most popular are assisting with reading or writing, shopping and entertaining. Other enjoyable activities are helping with handiwork, gardening and giving rides. All of these responsibilities are important and emotionally satisfying for you and elders in your community. They are a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation (nonprofit) established in the United States since 2008.

Fiesta Hermosa

People flock to Fiesta Hermosa each year for not only the art fair, but for the Music – which is always of the highest caliber. There are two stages featuring live music – one at the Main Stage on the Pier and another in the Charity Beer & Wine Garden. The Main Stage features the finest “tribute bands” performing the classic rock of bands such as Santana, Bob Seger, The Who, U2 and Van Halen, to name just a few. Classic rock, 80s and reggae are showcased in the Charity Beer & Wine Garden. The Kiddie Carnival features a 30 foot slide, mechanical rides, rock climbing wall and bungee jump, and games for kids from 3-10 years old. Pony rides, a Petting Zoo, and face painters are sure to delight the little ones.

La Canada’s Fiesta Days

La Canada’s weekend-long Memorial Day celebration includes a community breakfast, live music, a BBQ, music, and fireworks – followed by a grand parade down Foothill Boulevard with games and music on Monday. 58th Annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival
Now-Mon., May 30th
The festival’s parade steps off on Saturday at 10am. Other events at the festival include loads of carnival rides, a Tiny Tots King & Queen Contest, live music, a baby beauty pageant, a red-head round-up, and Friday’s cutting of the world’s largest strawberry shortcake (6pm) which is served free to more than 2,000 attendees. Ride-all-day wristbands cost $25 on Friday and $30 the rest of the weekend. All proceeds go to children’s charities. The festival is held at the Village Green between Main Street and Euclid Avenue in downtown Garden Grove.
