The Eight Limbs of Yoga with Jeff Perlman

Yoga means “union” of the body, mind, spirit and breath. It is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that is one of the six philosophies of India. The practice of yoga was first documented by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras around 2000 years ago. In the Sutras, Patanjali describes the Eight Limbed Path leading to Samadhi (Bliss/Absorption). In this workshop we will cover the eight-fold path in detail and practice asana (postures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation. $35.

Featherlite Peanut Butter Pancakes
Discovered in Rosa Parks’ personal memorabilia in the Library of Congress, a pancake recipe written on a bank deposit slip with list of ingredients and directions “combine with dry ingredients, cook at 275˚ on griddle.” Comments say the pancakes are delicious, and peanut butter can be subbed by other nut/seed butters, some Nutella for the peanut butter, or equivalent reconstituted peanut powder; last to mix in should be the 2 T baking powder (non-aluminum best). Notes: oil is healthier than shortening, sugar subs are fine; if you sub for other than AP flour, results will not be “featherlite;” a heavy frying pan can stand in for a hot griddle.
