Does your daughter want to have her own biz? Does she love fashion, accessories, décor and more? At Bizzy Girls, girls ages 6 -12, make their own product line, name their companies, make logos, ads, learn biz skills and sell their products at an end of camp pop up store. They take their earnings home. Returning students learn new skills. Camps run Mon.-Fri., with locations in LA, Valley, Manhattan Beach. Classes are small and fill up quickly.

Mixed Media Art Camps
The Arterie is offering another summer of art camps for children ages 6-13. Our camps sell out every year and give campers the opportunity to create six to eight works of art. Each camp always includes sculpture, painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media and design, among other materials. Play and Grow Smart-er Tips
Nancy Pyne-Hapke, author of “Play and Grow Smart, A Guide Supporting Brain Development, Birth through Five,” has been giving tips to aid your child’s optimum skill development through proactive neuroscience-based activities weekly on Jen’s List since 2010. These ideas come from scholarly sources to personal interviews, from the internet to periodicals to books.
SOME DEVELOPMENTAL LEARNING TOOLS (toys and other objects) for 9- to 12-month-olds and the developmental skills utilized: 
*  TACTILE (textured) balls 
    – possible features: lightweight, fabric, rubber, 
          plastic, colorful, textured, noise-making, 
          lightly scented, etc.
    – bigger than can fit in little mouths 
    (tactile, gross motor, fine motor, visual, auditory,
          thinking/learning)
*   ACTIVITY centers 
    – attached to the removable tray of a high chair,
          often safely secured by a strong suction cup,
    – self-contained on-the-floor style with brightly 
          colored objects that
          .. move (spin, turn, etc.)
          .. make noise (click, squeak, etc.)
          .. have different textures (smooth, bumpy, 
             velvety, etc.)
          (tactile, fine motor, creativity, visual, auditory, 
          language/vocabulary, thinking/learning) 
*  Q: What do we mean by Developmental Skills? 
    A: (in no special order) tactile, visual, auditory, gross 
    and fine motor, social/emotional, creativity, life skills, 
    language and vocabulary, math/logic 
    (thinking/learning) and music.
*  BEGIN to build a “learning library” of “developmental 
    learning tools” designed to grow as Baby grows:
    –  consider choosing toys (Learning Tools) with 
          multiple features and developmental skill 
          elements that stimulate Baby AND (your future) 
          Toddler AND Preschooler;
    –  ex. Baby may stack 2 blocks at 6 mo, and make
          structural creations with lots of blocks later.
