Camp Coyote
A new program that will provide campers, grades 6-8, an opportunity to develop leadership skills, through community service and other fun-filled, on-campus activities. Through these activities, field trips, and community service, campers will learn to be more independent and foster their leadership skills. The campers will participate in on-campus activities such as making dog treats, bandanas, and blankets for the Agoura Animal Shelter. They will also be running a group activity for Camp Roadrunner once a week. Campers will be partnered up with a younger student, allowing them the opportunity to put their leadership skills to use. Field trips too, to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and the beach for surfing lessons.

What are omega acids anyway? What do they do? “3s” (and there are three “3s”) are anti-inflammatory, improve the immune response, improve cellular membrane health and transportation of nutrients, and decrease blood clotting. “6” may do the opposite: boost inflammation, reduce cellular membrane transportation and thicken the blood. Humans need a ratio of 1:3, 3s to 6. Because Omega 6 is so prevalent in the foods we eat, most of us need a “3s” boost. Art to Become Blankets for Homeless Women

Girl power is ready to strike in Pacific Palisades! To celebrate National Women’s History Month, local mom, Michelle Villemaire will yarnbomb Monument Street. The yarnbomb will grace 33 trees along Monument Street, just north of Sunset Boulevard. Each tree is named and dedicated to a different woman in American history. After two weeks, the yarn pieces will be collected and turned into blankets to donate to a local shelter dedicated to helping women and their families.
Your Jr. Chef can make Julia Child’s Eggplant Pizzas
After slicing, salting/de-liquid-ing, and roasting ¾” eggplant slabs, sauté finely chopped garlic, petite diced tomatoes (fresh or canned) and dried Italian seasoning. Spoon sauce over eggplant slices, then sprinkle thin basil slices (chiffonade) then a generous amount of freshly-grated Parmesan/mozzarella blend. Broil a few minutes until cheese is beginning to brown. Serve with hot pepper flakes (opt). Vegetarian. Makes 3-4 servings. May be doubled. Parental supervision.
