A local family needs help from the community. Madison Greene, 3 yrs old, has a rare disorder. She does not walk/talk and suffers from seizures, vision problems and a sleep disorder. Madison was just diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called NBIA, with the subtype BPAN. People with NBIA/BPAN make very slow advancements in development in early childhood, but get worse in their teen years, develop severe complications, and premature death. Play and Grow Smart-er Tips
Nancy Pyne-Hapke, author of “Play and Grow Smart, A Guide Supporting Brain Development, Birth through Five,” has been giving tips to aid your child’s optimum skill development through proactive neuroscience-based activities weekly on Jen’s List since 2010. “MATH/LOGIC” developmental skill definition: recognizing and understanding cause-and-effect relationships, forming and understanding concepts, matching, classifying, categorizing, reasoning, problem-solving, strategizing, organizing ideas.
THE CRITICAL WINDOW during which the circuits of the brain are being most heavily wired for Math/Logic development is 1 – 4 years old. The more opportunity children have to experience healthy, positive and nurturing Math/Logic experiences during this critical period, the more efficiently their brains will work over the long run.
