Versatile, flavorful, easy. Starting with a tied, well-marbled, fat-topped 4 lb butt (interject joke here), over the fat cap smear a mixture of maple syrup/brown sugar/mustard/thyme/garlic/chipotle powder/s&p, and nestle into a pan/baking dish just big enough to hold the meat. Heat in oven at 475º for up to 15 min, then reduce heat to 200º for 6 – 8 hrs. Do NOT open oven door. Roast is now ready to shred (at internal temp 200º). Worth reading comments – good culinary info and ideas. Parental supervision.
