Will you be 1 of the 3 who grow your own food?
You can have higher nutrition and tastier food than from stores, and gardens provide good habitat for insects and birds. Replace “just plants” with edible plants. Plant for ornament, color and yard art, too. Try rainbow chard, nasturtium (flowers and leaves edible), dwarf citrus trees (pots okay), herbs, berries, asparagus, so many more. Chart shows food-producing substitute plants for simply ornamental ones. What’s better than kids getting their hands in the dirt to experience where their food comes from!
