The Halloween Helpers

Conceived in 2008 by then 11-year-old, Emma Rose Shapiro. Emma realized that there are many children who are not fortunate enough to get a new costume every year, if at all. She set a goal to enlist children who outgrow or become disinterested in previous years’ costumes and share them with kids who are less fortunate. She turned her idea into a reality, collecting and distributing more than 3,000 costumes to date. Now, Emma would like to take The Halloween Helpers to the next level. Emma needs to raise $1,700 for the many fees associated with establishing a full-fledged non-profit organization. So if you are willing to help in any way, go to  http://www.indiegogo.com/TheHalloweenHelpers to make your contribution.

“As the World Turns” actress Kelley Menighan Hensley has an inspiring blog about all things women

This is a blog, as well as a bi-weekly column for Soap Opera Digest, written by Kelley, along with her 13yr old daughter. It is all about health, fitness, fashion, motherhood, being 13, and a lot of life-coach lessons. They have an international audience, thanks to 18 years on a soap, which aired all over the world. Kelley has learned that there are a lot of women out there looking for a little guidance, a little inspiration, a little joy, and a lot of support. GreatFullOfLife gives them exactly that.

Mom Money IQ Test

CafeMom, the leading media company for moms, and Chase Blueprint®, released the findings of a joint study of the financial behaviors and attitudes of moms, in the hopes of gaining further insight into how American families manage their finances. The study showed that financial behaviors and attitudes were less dependent on demographics or income levels, and more on budgeting and saving behaviors. However, a significant finding of the survey reveals that a high number of moms feel stressed financially, with seven in 10 reporting that they feel overwhelmed by financial burdens. Full results are available at www.cafemom.com/insights. You can see the Infographic highlighting key insights at http://www.cafemom.com/images/about/press/cafemom_chase.
