Do you own a business with goods or services?(a note from Jen Levinson)
On May 22nd, the school that my 3 oldest kids go to, Round Meadow Elementary, will be hosting its Annual Carnival & Silent Auction, one of the school’s largest fundraisers. The success of this event is crucial in order to continue paying the salaries of the Librarian, Computer Specialist, Music Specialist, Art Specialist and Physical Education Specialist. Last year, the money raised was used to help the school purchase books, computers, and other materials needed for the further education of the children. With your businesses fully tax deductible donation, you’ll be promoting what you have to offer and goodwill as well! Your business name will be shown next to your donated item, will be listed in the monthly newsletter which is distributed to all of the Round Meadow families AND we will advertise your business by having your logo on the Round Meadow PFA website. All proceeds from the Auction will go directly to support the education of the students at Round Meadow Elementary School. With your help, we can all profit by giving the world a better future. Thank you in advance for your consideration and help. Please email me ASAP at jlev@jenlevinson.com so that I can forward you the donation form to complete and send along with any brochure, certificate or other information you would like to include. Please make note that the event is not until May 2010 for any certificates that need to be dated. Again, sincerely thank you for your support and generosity!

Test Question: “How Do We Slow Ourselves Down Enough to Meet the Pace of Our Child(ren)?”
The short answer is that we do not need to slow down for our kids’ sake – but rather for our own, and as a result, kids will be the beneficiaries.  The current level – and pace – of living is driven mostly by fear: economy, globalization, news reports – which all contribute to the maintaining that “orange alert” level (recently retired even by the military). The problem – and the solution – is that we do.

Muzungu is Now Available on EBook
The devil in Africa is in the details, and Bittermans new book Muzungu is there in the trenches – raw, down and dirty, unapologetic. The author witnesses religious  elders morphing into villains; political leaders exposed as criminals, tribal chiefs engaging in forbidden rituals, disease obliterating a generation, dedicated missionaries at the ends of their ropes, and a country in violent revolt. Her husbandis railroaded and sentenced to prison. Her co-worker, the author’s stalwart bellwether for hard fact and unlikely personal guide into theshadowy underbelly of the country, ultimately commits suicide. She is present for the bizarre meeting between the doctors and activists of President Bush’s AIDS Relief Project. Her audacious Kenyan adventure makes for a bucket load of anecdotes and impressions born of heart and hands-on experience–enough to knock your socks off – too fantastic to be believed. Almost.
