Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.
A major new documentary release from Clear Lake Historical Productions, is being released into the market with screenings at film festivals worldwide, and is in very limited release to the general public. This award winning film explores the connection between Jewish Americans and baseball – our nation’s most iconic institution. However, the movie is more than a film about sports. It is a story of immigration, assimilation, bigotry, heroism, the passing on of traditions, and the shattering of stereotypes. Narrated by Academy Award winner Dustin Hoffman, and scripted by Pulitzer Prize-winner, Ira Berkow, the film includes interviews with Sandy Koufax, Hank  Greenberg, Ron Howard, Bud Selig, Kevin Youkilis, Larry King and many more.  This film illustrates the important role that baseball has played in Jewish life, and the important role that Jews have played, and continue to play, in America’s greatest sport. A post screening dinner, raffle, auction, and display of sports memorabilia, as well as the possible attendance of sports personalities, are also planned. Tickets for this event may be purchased at www.TASNorthridge.org/baseball.
