True tales of two little dogs with big personalities and even bigger hearts!
Discover these delightful pups and their real-life adventures in Komick’s Brodie & The Yeti storybook collection. His whimsical writing is great for all ages! We have read the books and my boys loved both stories! The Tales of Two Little Dogs tells the story of how the two dogs came to be brothers and The Yeti Saves Coco Bunny shares the story of how The Yeti Saves Grandma’s Bunny named Coco. As a long time advocate of animal rescue and safety, Dennis Komick has a sincere sense of urgency to aid rescue agencies and dog adoption organizations. A portion of the proceeds from the Brodie and The Yeti products and books will forever be donated to help organizations working with this cause.  Currently these books can be found within a number of local animal hospitals and pet food markets as well as adoption groups.

Looking for some extra physical activity for your 7-12 year old?
My oldest son participates in Karate 2 times a week, yet his strength was not really where it should be for a boy his age. We reached out to Karen Jashinsky, after the Sensei recommended some additional training. Karen is the Founder at O2 MAX- Fitness & Media and has been working with kids for almost 10 years. She has been nothing short of awesome. She comes for 30 min., twice a week and helps him with balance, core strength and basic form of simple everyday exercises, like a pull up or push up. We are not looking for him to be Mr. Muscle Man, just build some confidence and work to his potential! Her prices are reasonable (she will work with a group too!) and she is truly terrific with the kids. She’s also developed programs for tween, teen and college girls to develop healthy approaches to fitness and nutrition especially as they pertain to lifestyle changes & events (bat mitzvahs, prom and college fitness). Feel free to email her at karen@o2maxfitness.com for more info about what types of fitness programs she has to offer (westside as well as the valley). It is so important to emphasize healthy living and doing it in a positive, non threatening manner is great. Just getting that kid off the couch and moving is a positive step in the right direction!

There are many moments to capture-from kids making snow angels, family dinners to holiday parties
Tamara Lackey, an award-winning professional photographer, offers the following simple tips and tricks to capture those not-to-be-missed holiday moments:
· Hold that Pose: Consider the level of interaction you want with your subjects. Try to capture family and friends in a candid and natural way then have them pose.
· Capture the Moment: Look for opportunities to capture the atmosphere without staging the photo. Shoot wide to capture the whole room –you’ll come away having captured conversations and the festive nature of the celebration.
· It’s the Little Things: Remember to photograph the decorative scenes of the holidays–such as festive holiday lights, ribbons on gifts, and the finishing touches on a snowman.  These details will remind you of the good times had for years to come.
Visit www.capturinglifebetter.com for information about Tamara’s upcoming DVD and book, “Capturing Life Through (Better) Photography”-a great resource for aspiring photographers looking to obtain simple tips and tricks in taking better photos with their point-and-shoot camera.
