Married With Kids: Is it Okay to Go Bed Angry?
Wouldn’t it be nice if after a day of tantrums, diapers, and spit up, couples could have ample time to sip wine and leisurely discuss their marital issues before falling into a heavenly slumber? Mmmmmm…it’s a nice thought. Unfortunately, says Parents Ask expert Carin Goldstein and author of Be the Smart Wife: “that’s just not reality for parents today.”

Free 8th annual Sanitation Yard Open House
Saturday, June 26th from 9am – 3pm
The open houses encourage and teach the current and next generation of Angelenos about the importance of recycling, recycling techniques and the city’s recycling operations. The popularity of the open houses can be traced to City and Sanitation leaders as well as city employees that volunteer their time to transform the city’s six sanitation yards into fun learning centers on recycling. By combining food, music and games with information and education, the bureau has succeeded in capturing the attention and curiosity of families on how to recycle while providing an opportunity for city employees to give back to the community through their volunteer efforts.  For more info, call (800) 773-2489 or visit www.lacitysan.org or www.kids.lacity.org

Milestones Preschool in Culver City/Inglewood
Currently has openings a couple of openings available NOW or in the fall for 2 to 5 year olds. The director and head teacher, Milena Bice, is a wonderful person who has a gift for communicating with children, and teaching them how to communicate with one another. Their focus is on social-emotional development and they take a very child-centered approach to teaching and learning alongside the children. The school fosters a culture where diversity is celebrated. But they still make time for working on the “academic” learning of preschool, with letter/number recognition, writing, reading and mathematical concepts all taught in a functional manner, integrated into the curriculum. Milestones has a great ratio of teachers to children (usually around 1:4), and the children LOVE it there! Call (310)677-5807 for more info. Email Jens List member cskura@sbcglobal.net for a reference.
