They have been honored with an invitation to perform as the guest orchestra at the 100th Annual Convention of the Music Teachers’ Association of California, “A Century of Education and Service.” The Thousand Oaks Philharmonic will perform Piano Concerto No. 2 by Samuel Adler. The performance will be held July 3, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotel in the Marquis Ballroom. The Philharmonic will perform during the association’s annual Concerto Competition, accompanying the finals of a state-wide competition. Repertoire for the concert, in addition to the Adler Concerto, will include the Rachmaninoff Second Piano Concerto, the Schumann Piano Concerto and the Andante spianato and Grande Polonaise by Frederic Chopin.
