Your Jr. Chef can make Sweet Squashduckens
Step aside, Turducken. Roasted squash meets pear-cranberry crumble and baked apples here. After cutting off the tops and scraping out seeds, place medium-sized red kuri (or other) squash on a baking dish, put a peeled/cored apple in the center and fill cores with fresh cranberries. Fill space between apple and squash with mixture of pears/cranberries/salt/brown sugar/flour/lemon juice/spices. Top with oat topping, and bake about 2 hrs. Cool a bit, and cut in half or in wedges to serve. A delicious afternoon’s activity. Parental supervision.
