FORMS of creativity: 2- and 3-Dimensional ART, Written/Spoken LANGUAGE, MOVEMENT / MUSIC using the body, Imaginative-Pretending FANTASY. Some “Creativity: LANGUAGE” tidbits: FROM ABOUT 4 years …make homemade books and read them often: – books with numbers both cut from magazines and numbers Preschooler has drawn. – books with pictures of his favorite things with optional naming words. – self-made alphabet books (lower case only except the capital at the beginning of her name). Consider focusing on 1 letter a week. …use the magic of make-believe by invent stories with her in them. …after your modeling, she can make up stories with you and herself in them. …play listening and guessing games – with the sounds of different animals. – finding something he can see, then describing it, then letting him tell you what you described.
