The Bay Foundation and The Friends of LAX Dunes invite you to volunteer at their monthly LAX Dunes clean-up event! The LAX Dunes is home to a variety of unique plants and animals. One-On-One Piano Instruction (5 years – Adult)
Offered Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and evenings and Saturday afternoons beginning June 19th
Finally! One-on-one piano lessons that are truly affordable and private instruction is the best way to learn to play the piano. These 30-minute sessions are open to adults or children. Beginners will focus on note reading, rhythm reading and music theory while more advanced students will work on chord progressions, inversions, and piano technique. Students should have a piano/keyboard at home for daily practice. Materials used will depend on experience and music style.

This easy-to-learn breath technique quickly delivers practitioners into a state of relaxation, and creates physical, mental & spiritual cleansing. Looking for an activity for your geeky daughter? Serving girls ages 8-18, Geek Girls Society offers a wide array of activities during bi-monthly meetings such as tabletop gaming, crafts, exploring the pop culture universe and participating in group projects focused on girl empowerment. Membership is $30 monthly. Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s of the month.

SFVYC Art & Song Summer Camp for Grades 1-5
Taught by professionals with an emphasis on creativity, students will spend the morning learning songs and rehearsing with talented musicians/educators from the San Fernando Valley Youth Chorus. Following a supervised lunch, students will experience hands-on art projects with staff from the Canoga Park Youth Arts Center. Open to children entering grades 1 – 5 in the fall. Each session, 3 in all from June to Aug, will culminate in a community performance and art show.
 
 
Hands on History Free Children’s Workshop
Saturday, May 11th from 11-12pm
Come for an activity that will surely be fun and informative crafting a fun present for Mom. This Month’s theme will complement our permanent galleries focusing on Arcadia Bandini. Children and their parents are invited to this free series held monthly on a Saturday mornings. Each session will include a short, age-appropriate history lesson in the galleries followed by a related craft or activity. Each workshop is designed to be engaging. Yoga for Real Women
Small Group classes – $10 for a 1 hr. class. Rachel describes her home studio classes as a place for students who may never have stepped foot in a yoga studio, who feel a bit intimidated about the whole thing but have heard how great yoga is. She offers an opportunity for those new to yoga to move, stretch and breath. Let go of preconceived ideas of what yoga is, how you have to be, or dress, or act. You don’t need to be spiritual, chant or say “Om”. You don’t even need to be flexible! What you need to do is move your body in a way that feels good!
