The Inuit people have developed innovative and beautiful ways to survive in these harsh conditions. One tradition is the building of Inuksuk, a pile of stones that some think look like a person, which may have been used for navigation, as a marker for travel routes, fishing places, camps, hunting grounds, and to indicate special places.
