Due to being evacuated because of the Woolsey Fire, I was unable to access my office until yesterday. We are home, safe and are beyond grateful to the 1st responders that saved so many lives and homes. Heartbroken for those that lost their lives and homes due to this horrific event. Our thoughts are also with the families devastated by the Borderline tragedy.
Here are several organizations have boots on the ground and special programs supporting relief efforts. Here’s how you can make a difference for those who need it most:
Donate, Volunteer With The Red Cross
Those who wish to make cash donations to support Red Cross relief efforts can do so at www.redcross.org or over the phone by calling 1-800-RED-CROSSYou can also text CAWILDFIRES to 90999 to make a $10 donation. The Red Cross accepts applications for volunteers on its website. Volunteer work ranges from phone calls, data entry and client registration, to shelter support and supply replenishment.
Las Virgenes Fire Relief Fund
The Foundation for Las Virgenes Schools would like to help the families in our LVUSD district who have lost their homes.
The Humane Society of Ventura County
They are accepting animals that are evacuated from the fires and are looking for donations. Those looking to help can also buy items through the organization’s Amazon Wish List: https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/.

3rd Annual Peace And Kindness Walk
Sat., Dec.1st at 10am-12pm starting at 6433 Platt Ave. in West Hills
It has been almost two years since Jordan Peisner was viciously attacked at Platt Village. Out of this came the annual rally/walk for Peace and Kindness. Each year, the amazing kids from ECR’s Cool 2 Be Kind Club have been instrumental in making this event happen. This will be a celebration of the things we have done since the incident and to rally together as a community to spread the message of anti-bullying, peace, love, and kindness. The Organization for Social Media Safety (formerly Jordanstrong Foundation), The Optimist Club, and Cool 2 Be Kind will be the event sponsors this year.

Every Lunch Matters Provides Food Vouchers To Hungry Students In LBUSD
My stepsister, Mary Sramek, founded Every Lunch Matters when she realized students were going hungry in LBUSD. The policy of the district is to restrict students who do not have money or credit to a milk & a piece of fruit. She was determined to make it easy to help hungry kids at school. Your donation can be made to your school of choice. If your choice has received enough donations to satisfy the needs of the hungry students at that particular site for a month, your donation will be redirected to the “most needy” category. 100% of your tax deductible donations go towards food vouchers for hungry students. Partnership opportunities available. Email EveryLunchMattersLB@gmail.com.
