At Camp Los Encinos, the campers get to choose! Calling all girls, ages 7-14! Finding out who you are! Join this week of fun-filled activity and adventure. Girl Group Summer Camp will carry on with the mission to provide concrete tools for being in the world. The teen mentors and special guests will help explore themes including mindfulness, creativity, friendship and self confidence. Each day will include action based activities as well as crafts, writing and group discussion.
 
 
Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra’s 2017-18 Season Finale
Sunday, May 20th bat 7pm in the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall
It celebrates young talent by spotlighting this year’s Concerto Competition winners, violinists Danielle Liu and Leo Matsuoka. The concert opens with Matsuoka’s performance of the first movement of Alexander Glazunov’s searing violin concerto. The first movement of Jean Sibelius’ Violin Concerto then takes full advantage of the violin’s expressive range, delivered impressively by Liu. The concert closes with Gershwin’s “An American in Paris.” PSYO is led by Pacific Symphony Assistant Conductor Roger Kalia.

Creativity Speaks offers private voice and piano lessons for all ages. Creativity Speaks’ owner and teacher, Lynn Sher, has a BFA from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC, one of the most competitive music schools in the US. Lessons start at $60 per hour in-studio and she offers specials for lessons bought in bulk. In addition to teaching, Lynn is a working musician and has a wealth of knowledge to share in the areas of performance, songwriting and music industry basics.
