CPR & HOME SAFETY COURSE
April 19th at 6:30pm at The Alice and Nahum Lanier School
Spring is here, time for more outdoor adventures. Unfortunately, that also means more accidents and injuries! Many accidents are preventable; others can be dramatically minimized with CPR and safety training. The essentials of CPR, breathing support, & removal of airway obstruction(s) are covered. The course includes how to respond if an infant or child has a head injury, poisoning, burn or a seizure.

Reality Party for Parents

Many adults feel drinking and drug use is a rite of passage. They assume teen parties are the same as when they were young. Straight Up youth want parents to face the current realities of today’s “out of control” teen parties – competitive drinking games, fights, random hookups, and even sexual assaults. At Reality Parties, parents tour a home set up as a teen drinking party, with youth actors portraying common party activities and voicing concerns expressed by local teens and young adults. After each performance or tour, Straight Up facilitates community dialogue, with a panel to answer questions and discuss ideas for change.
