Chaverim is a non-profit, social friendship program for developmentally disabled adults ages 18 and over. The program offers many fun and unique activities, and helps its members realize their full potential and become active, vital members of the community. Chaverim’s annual fundraiser is on June 27th. Cooper Needs a Loving Forever Home. He is a sweet & affectionate Chihuahua mix, will be looking for a forever home once he is completely recovered from the abuse he suffered. Cooper was recently found in a parking lot, physically abused. He is healing nicely, and despite his traumatic ordeal, is a loving and well trained little dog. Amigo de los Animales is currently helping to get a family of dogs out of Puerto Rico. If you have ever heard of the huge numbers of dogs who are homeless on the island or what “animal control” does to them, it is not pretty. Many, many hours of sleep have been lost by people after hearing the stories of what some of these men do to these homeless dogs. A list member adopted a “Sato” (street dog) two years ago and can vouch for the personality traits. There is an urgent need for a special and wonderful dog family right now who needs help. Mom is about 2 years old. She has had at least two litters. Bruno is from the first litter and he is about one year old age. He will flip over and allow you to rub his tummy and he is just incredibly sweet. There is also a new litter who is about 2-3 months old. There are 2-3 pups, both male and female. Bruno is about 50 pounds, while the new litter is supposed to be smaller. If anyone is interested, a volunteer has someone coming to the states on Saturday.
