The Triunfo YMCA Coed Fall Basketball League
The 8 game season begins September 25th. Skills assessment and signup dates are Wednesday, August 24th and Saturday August 27th at Deerhill Park (6700 Doubletree Rd. Oak Park). The league is semi-competitive and is focused on basketball fundamentals, sportsmanship, teamwork and having fun. Games will be played on Sundays at Medea Creek Middle School. Each participant receives a uniform and trophy. The cost is $110 for the age 3-4 division and $160 for upper divisions. A $40 YMCA program membership fee is required for YMCA nonmembers. Anyone who purchased tickets from Ticketmaster in the past decade knows the pain of paying exorbitant processing fees to the ticketing giant. But now, Ticketmaster is paying for overcharging customers by offering free tickets, thanks to a $400 million class action lawsuit. The suit, Schlesinger et al. v. Ticketmaster, contended that the fees charged by Ticketmaster were deceptive and misleading “profit generators.” Anyone who purchased tickets from Ticketmaster between Oct. 21, 1999-Feb. 27, 2013 will receive vouchers for free tickets and discount codes. The suit affects 50 million people, so chances are pretty decent that you’ve got some free passes in your account. To check if you have free tickets, log into your Ticketmaster account and select “Active Vouchers.”
