There are NO out of bonds! Arena soccer is fast, high scoring and tons of FUN! Kids are divided by gender and age and each group plays a round robin style mini tournament for 70 straight minutes. In arena soccer EVERY child is involved in the game the entire time and EVERY player is a goal scorer!

For Mardi Gras or anytime – Alton Brown’s Soul-stirring Shrimp Gumbo
Uses a hands-off, oven-baked roux (can be used for any dish calling for roux; roux – “roo” – is a toasted flour/fat mixture that cooks from blonde to dark brown as a flavor base and for thickening). While roux is baking for about 90 min, clean head-on shrimp, and make stock from heads and shells.
Add onion, celery, green pepper and garlic to browned roux, and stir for 7-8 min. Stir in tomatoes, s&p, fresh thyme, cayenne and bay leaves. Pour in strained shrimp broth, and cook for 35 min. Turn off the heat, stir in raw shrimp, browned andouille sausage pieces and filé powder (ground sassafras leaves; can instead be added to each serving), and allow to sit for 10 min. Serve over rice. Serves 6. Notes: can be made vegetarian; for GF, can use millet flour; can add lentils, duck, greens, okra, hot Cajun spices; can add or sub cooked cubed chicken breast; make several batches and freeze without shrimp, then add fresh raw shrimp on the day; can make a larger batch of roux and freeze some.

While party wings and drumettes are baking, make glaze/sauce of stout beer, honey, soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic, sesame oil, pepper and chili powder.
