Public School Opening in Santa Clarita – Hebrew language
The school has been labeled a Hebrew language charter school, and its Web site says it is “is the first charter school in California to incorporate the Hebrew language into its curricula.” It was originally conceived to be built on a new Jewish community center site, alongside Temple Beth Ami, but the curriculum has since been expanded to include other languages and the ultimate home for the school is now not yet determined. Collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to two local facilities
This is part of the its family picnic on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at O’Melveney Park in Granada Hills from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Rotary District 5260. The following food items are suggested: peanut butter, jelly, pasta or pasta sauce. The peanut butter and jelly will be donated to the Pacific Lodge Boys Home where the residents make sandwiches for the homeless. The pasta and pasta sauce will be donated to Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission to help make the lives of others better. Community members are also welcome to drop off any food donations that day between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.  You can also bring the items to your local Rotary Club, which you can find by visiting www.rotary5260.org.
