Mandarin Immersion Program on the Westside – now enrolling
Broadway Elementary School (K-6) in Venice will launch a Mandarin Immersion Program this Fall 2010 with two kindergarten classes.  The program is designed for students to achieve academic proficiency in both English and Mandarin, becoming bilingual, bicultural and biliterate.  Research shows that learning a second language increases children’s problem solving ability, creativity and critical thinking in all subject areas.  Learning Mandarin will prepare our children to be versatile and competitive in the future global work force as China becomes one of the world’s dominant economic powers.
