Liberty Grace Johnson was born on Monday, June 16th with the most complicated form of Spina Bifida – myelomeningocele Just after she was born, she was flown to CHLA. A neurosurgeon performed two surgeries on the second day of her life, one on her back and one on her head. She recovered well from the surgeries, but, she has ongoing concerns with feeding, breathing and swallowing. They have also been told she will have a lifetime disability with her lower limbs, particularly her lower left leg.
